Price Ad Matching for Beginners! {Day 2}

How was your task for Day One?  Did you find other grocery store(s) in your area, you could price ad match from? {Awesome!}

The Knowledge of Sales Ad

When reading and understanding the sales ad it's important to take your time and ask questions! By following these two  simple steps, you will be on your way to start saving anywhere from 10%-50% on an single item.

1. Dates.

Dates are very important when it comes to price ad matching. Every competitor has their own weekly circular that begins and ends on particular day out of the week. You CAN NOT price ad match from an expired ad OR an early sale before the day gets there.

• Walgreens, CVS, Target, and Kmart circular ads always begin on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday.
• Grocery stores around Southeast Kansas and NE Oklahoma area usually begins on a Tuesday and ends on the following Monday. But there are some that begins on a Wednesday and ends on the following Tuesday. This is why it is so important to know when the sales ad starts and ends. 

2. Item for Item, Pound for Pound. 

When taking the item off a Walmart or Target shelf to getting it price ad match it has to be the same exact item that represents the item in the competitor's ad.

For example:

• Sara Lee Honey Wheat or Whole Wheat 24 oz bread on sale for $1.49 in a competitor circular. At Walmart on the shelf it's for $2.79 for the exact item and net weight. Wow, you just saved $1.30 on bread!!

Another example, but on produce or meats/poultry:

• A competitor has Tyson chicken thighs on sale for $0.49lb and at Walmart has the Tyson chicken thighs for $1.25lb. Wow, another great savings!!
• A competitor has cucumbers on sale for $0.50 each and Walmart has the cucumbers for $1.00 each. Wow, what another great savings!!

Walmart will also price ad match store brand to store brand items! Not all items has to be grocery, Walmart will honor anything they have in their store from a competitor weekly circular.
 (ex: beauty products, electronics, lawn & garden, baby products, sporting goods,  and etc.)

How I price ad match.

When it comes to price ad matching, I go on the competitor's store website and find their circular ad in my area. Or I will look through the circular ads from the Sunday paper {note:make sure they are current, smile}. I will write down the competitor store name and all the items and sizes on a piece of notebook paper.

If I have time I will type it up and print it off. If not, no trouble I will tear the page out and take it with me to the store also with my grocery list.

When writing my grocery list out I will put a star to indicate this item is a price ad match. If I have a coupon with an item on my grocery list or my price ad match list, I usually write a c and circle it, to indicate that item has a coupon for additional savings.

Practice Today.

While your on your computer or smart phone, look up a few competitor's store website and glance through their weekly circular. Jot down a few items you think might be a good sale and the next time you take a trip to Walmart {during that current circular week} compare the prices you have found with the shelf price at Walmart. It's kinda like playing the "price is right" but with your real hard earn cash. {smile}

Chicken Alfredo {That's for Dinner}

Lately, Kmart has been having these really awesome pasta deals in their weekly ad. The past couple of weeks they had a sale on when you bought a pound of hamburger meat for $2.99 you would receive a package of Barilla pasta noodles and a jar of Ragu sauce FREE.

This week Kmart is having another pasta deal which is when you buy the Oscar Mayer Grilled Chicken strips for $2.99. You will receive a jar of Ragu of choice AND Barilla pasta noodles for FREE!

All of this for only $2.99 after buying the chicken breast.

For only a few dollars we decided to cook up this awesome deal into Chicken Alfredo and it was DELICIOUS! {Yummy!}

This is a stock up item and an awesome way to help feed a family in need by donating a meal to a Church pantry near you.

Running into Walmart, for only just a few things yesterday, I happened to notice these coupons along the cards in the stationary department. I have seen coupons before for cards but, only during a certain promotion. Apparently since "couponing" is a success why not have coupons for cards too! {Smile} Don't forget to pick up a few Happy Memorial Day cards for next weekend!

With a list in our hand my family and I was at Walmart getting a few things for us when I had remembered we were low on coffee. Of  course I had left the boys with my husband and walked over to the grocery department to grab a thing of coffee. I usually buy the cheapest with or without a coupon but just decided to grab the first coffee thing I saw. I ended up with this Folgers container.

With this strange lid on top of the coffee, I had never thought once to take it off.

My curiosity was never there until a week after purchasing this coffee container. I took this lid off and discovered there were coupons in there! {WooHoo}

Price Ad Matching for Beginners!

Price Ad Matching:

Is when you find an item on sale in a competitor's weekly circular ad and you ask for that price on that same item at another store.

{Refer back to the store policy Walmart or Target}

{Price ad matching is another way to save MONEY without using coupons!}

In the Walmart Store policy says they will honor ANY local competitor store without the ad. This is usually in a 50 mile radius. {call your local Walmart and speak with the store manager or csm to get a specific mile radius} YES! This means your saving on gas, saving extra money on your shopping experience, AND plus saving on time! You don't have to travel to the competitor store to get the deal! {Smile} A one stop shop!

In the Target Store policy says they will honor the lowest price with the proof of the local competitor store ad(s). Another one stop shop! {Smile} But if you already purchased the item and saw it on sale, within seven days of that purchase, you can bring your Target receipt and the competitor 's current printed ad back to Target and get reimburse for the savings you found. Awesome! {call your local Target and speak with the store manager or csm to find out if they have a mile radius coverage for their low price promise}

Day One

What's the Mileage? ATask TO-DO. 

1. Find out the specific mile radius your local Walmart or Target covers.
2. Make a list of the stores in the mile coverage. {Put these words in your search engine Grocery stores in your area, Add them to your favorites on your interenet.}
3. Call the stores on your list and ask them, what day does their sale cycle start and end out of the week? And ask to be on their mailing list. {This means you will receive their weekly circular in your mail box.}

A good friend of mine, had told me about the Huggies Rewards Program.She knows I have two little toddlers running around and she tells me these great deals she has found or knows of especially for toddlers. Breaking Through to Financial Freedom (series)

Breaking through to financial freedom is a journey, a path to knowing Christ more intimately and being financially free to serve God. Majority of our thinking towards financial freedom is expecting to do whatever we want, when we want.

• {Reflect} A few weeks ago, when the Mega Ball State Lotto was up to $640 million dollars jackpot the peoples reaction was huge! Everyone was buying a ticket or two, but when they were waiting in line some news reporter asked, "what would you do with all that money, if you won?" A lot of the peoples first responses were self priority; as getting a new house, a new car, plastic surgery etc.(material things). What if we paused and acknowledge God and told the news reporter, "with all that money we will serve God first."

To help break this kinda of thinking, is to renew your mind and heart onto God's word.

1. Transfer ownership to God. Recognize that God really owns what you have and that includes your family as well as your time and things. Recognize this biblical principle or it will be impossible to free yourself financially. "The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it." (Psalm 24:1 NASB)
2.  Get out of debt. Break the habits that keep you in debt – like spending more than you earn and borrowing. Save so you don’t have to borrow. "Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and turmoil with it." (Proverbs 15:16 NASB)
3.  Accept God’s provision for you. God is wiser than you are and He will provide for your needs just as He promised. "Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ "(Matthew 6:31 NASB) 
4. Refuse temptations to make hasty financial decisions. Don’t buy into get-rich-quick schemes or be pressured to make quick decisions based on incomplete information. "The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty." (Proverbs 21:5 NASB)
5. Strive for excellence in all you do. Set high standards for yourself and your family. Humility doesn’t mean second best. "Whoever speaks is to do so as one who is speaking the utterance of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever." (1 Peter 4:11 NASB)
6. Seek contentment through your relationship with God. A discontented spirit produces greed and covetousness. Contentment results from a proper relationship with God based on accepting the lifestyle that He has made provision for in your life. "I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need." (Philippians 4:11-12 NASB)
7. Believe God’s promise that your needs will be met. Sometimes He’ll do this through the abundance of others; however, He never promises to provide equally for everyone. As a Christian, learn to accept God’s provision for you, because it is clear evidence of the role He has designed for you in His plan. Accept His provision without resentment because, "At this present time your abundance being a supply for their need, so that their abundance also may become a supply for your need, that there may be equality." (2 Corinthians 8:14 NASB)

Breaking Through to Financial Freedom

What is the first thought that comes to your mind when you hear the words "financial freedom?"

Financial freedom is like anything else, a challenge that needs a plan or an outline to help us break the financial bondage and to help keep our focus on living a righteous life that God has intended for us to live. 

Your probably asking, "where can I get my hands on an outline, a plan that will fit your needs or how much will this cost me?"  The answer is God's word, the Bible. A hardback copy of a Bible can cost about $5.00 on up to around $60.00.  There are a lot of resources like Youversion.com or Biblegateway.com that will give you free access to a internet Bible, with several different translations. Either way you go, it is the only source that will give us teaching and much more to breaking through to our financial freedom. The Bible is for anyone and everyone!

The Bible is the essential tool of living in a righteous path in

which God has laid out for us.

 for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness,

• Target accepts one Manufacturer Coupon and one Target Coupon for the same item (unless prohibited by either coupon).
• Item purchased must match the coupon description (brand, size, quantity, color, flavor, etc.).
• Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
• We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.
• All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier during checkout.
• All applicable sales taxes are paid by the guest at the full value of the item.
• These guidelines apply to all coupons accepted at Target (Color Checkout Coupons, Internet Coupons, Mobile Coupons, Mailed Coupons, Coupons from Newspapers and Magazines, etc.).

internet (print-at-home) coupons:

• We gladly accept valid Internet coupons that contain a clear and scannable bar code.

buy one get one free coupons (BOGO):
• BOGO coupons cannot be combined (i.e. you cannot use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free). Unless stated otherwise on the coupon, the use of one Buy One Get One Free coupon requires that two of the valid items are presented at checkout of which one item will be charged to the guest and the 2nd item will be discounted by its full retail price.
• A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed towards the purchase price of the first item.
If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon maybe used on the first item.

As a customer-focused retailer, Walgreens encourages the use of coupons by our customers in our retail stores, in accordance with the following guidelines.

Guidelines:

General

• All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier at the time of checkout.
• Walgreens does not accept expired coupons.
• Coupons and their face value cannot be exchanged for cash or gift cards.
• Competitor coupons are not accepted at Walgreens.
• Walgreens cannot accept coupons for items not carried in our stores.
• The number of manufacturer coupons, including Register Rewards^TM manufacturer coupons, may not exceed the number of items in the transaction. The total value of the coupons may not exceed the value of the transaction. Sales tax must be paid, if required by state law.
• Any coupon offer not covered in these guidelines will be accepted at the discretion of Walgreens management.

Sale Items

• Walgreens will accept manufacturer coupons for an item that is on sale.
• In the event that any item's selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.

Multiple Coupons

• When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.

• When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased.
• Sales tax must be paid for any Buy One, Get One Free coupon offers, if required by applicable state laws.

Internet/Print at Home Coupons

• Walgreens accepts valid internet/print at home coupons with a clear and scannable barcode.

Register Rewards coupons

Earning Register Rewards

• Register Rewards^TM will only print for in-stock merchandise during the promotional period.
• Register Rewards^TM can only be earned for eligible items. No substitutions.
• There is a limit of one Register Rewards^TM (RR) printed per offer per customer per transaction.
• Customers redeeming a Register Rewards^TM against the same offer may not receive another RR.

Redeeming Register Rewards

• Customers redeeming a Register Rewards^TM against the same offer may not receive another RR.
• Refer to Register Rewards^TM coupon for expiration date.
• The RR coupon value cannot exceed the total purchase amount. No cash back and no cash value for RR coupon.
• The number of manufacturer coupons, including RR manufacturer coupons, must not exceed the number of items in the transaction.
• Register Rewards^TM must be forfeited if the qualifying merchandise is returned.
• Register Rewards^TM cannot be used toward the purchase of gift cards and pre-paid cards.

CVS/pharmacy coupons (ExtraBucks® Rewards and ExtraCare® Coupons) and Third Party Manufacturer Coupons are accepted in our retail stores in accordance with the following guidelines:

·         CVS/pharmacy does not accept expired coupons.

·         Coupons cannot be exchanged for cash or gift cards.

·         Third Party Manufacturer coupons are issued by a third party and sales tax may be charged on pre-coupon price.

·         CVS/pharmacy does not accept coupons for items not carried in our stores.

·         CVS/pharmacy only accepts ExtraBucks Rewards applicable to the ExtraCare card offered at time of purchase.

·         CVS/pharmacy does not currently accept coupon bar code images displayed on a Smartphone, iPhone, Droid etc.

·         The total value of the coupons may not exceed the value of the transaction. Sales tax must be paid, if required by state law.

·         Certain CVS/pharmacy coupons may be subject to state sales tax rules similar to Third Party Manufacturer Coupons and sales tax may be charged on pre-coupon price

·         Language at the bottom of CVS/pharmacy coupons provides specific coupon acceptance rules.

·         Any coupon offer not covered in these guidelines may be accepted at the discretion of CVS management.

Sale Items

·         CVS/pharmacy will accept manufacturer coupons for an item that is on sale.

·         There is no limit to the number of ExtraBucks Rewards that may be used in a transaction as long as it does not exceed the transaction total.

·         The number of manufacturer coupons used in a transaction may not exceed the number of items in the transaction.
